About Us – Our Mission

This organization is established for the fraternal, patriotic, historical and educational benefit of U.S. Army Drill Sergeants. It is established as a National Member Association to strengthen camaraderie, preserve, and perpetuate the memory and history of our proud lineage and badge of honor.

The United States Army Drill Sergeant Association (USADSA) was founded in March 2014 as a way to link Drill Sergeants of past and present within a Nationally Recognized Association.

We encourage all Drill Sergeants past and present to join our ranks and help expand our association to help us reach it’s full potential.

Chris Adame, President
Christopher (Chris) Adame serves as the President of the United States Army Drill Sergeant Association, guiding the Association’s strategic direction with a focus on increasing awareness of the Association and its activities, strengthening member connection, and reinforcing the Association’s presence within the Drill Sergeant community.
Chris completed the Drill Sergeant Course in 2015 and served as a Drill Sergeant, Drill Sergeant Leader, Senior Drill Sergeant Leader, and Chief of Training from 2015–2020.
Following his departure from the Academy, Chris returned to the Drill Sergeant Program as a First Sergeant and Interim Command Sergeant Major.
Chris was inducted into the Drill Sergeant Hall of Fame, Class of 2025.
As President, Chris is advancing efforts to modernize the Association, create tangible value for members and partners, strengthen trust and communication, further integrate the Association into the Army enterprise, and develop resources accessible to Drill Sergeants and their families.

Alyssa Chavez, Vice President;

Alyssa Chavez serves as the Vice President of the United States Army Drill Sergeant Association, supporting the Association’s strategy and direction while advancing initiatives that strengthen member engagement, corporate support, and organizational effectiveness.

Alyssa is a graduate of the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Academy and served as a Drill Sergeant from 2020–2024, responsible for the leadership, safety, and development of trainees and preparing Reserve NCOs for the Drill Sergeant Academy. 

In her civilian career, Alyssa specializes in security and emergency management in various industries such as large retail organizations, the nonprofit sector, and healthcare.

As Vice President, Alyssa assists the President in executive board operations, corporate support strategy, and social media strategy. Alyssa is committed to modernizing the Association, strengthening faith, trust, and communication between members, outside organizations, and the Board, while delivering meaningful value to current and former Drill Sergeants.
